Hi, all. Just got my Tide and Chestnut43 board in the mail. I slotted the Tide into place, hooked it up to my Linux box as per http://www.gumstix.net/Setup-and-Programming/view/Overo-Setup-and-Programming/Getting-started/111.html , hit Reset, and... noise. Reset again, same noise. This is repeatable through hard resets and soft. I played with the kermit settings a little, but changed nothing... I'm at a loss, here. I know the Tide depends on there being an OS on the SDHC chip, but I would've expected just a small bootloader to report a "No image found!", if nothing else. Or is that what I'm seeing, and my kermit settings are wrong somehow? Any ideas on troubleshooting this? Thanks, Chris -- View this message in context: http://old.nabble.com/New-Overo-Tide-produces-noise-on-console--tp30813315p30813315.html Sent from the Gumstix mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

Just a shot in the dark but did you set the baud correctly on your Linux box? 115200 8N1, no flow control is what the serial debug console will be expecting on the other end. I'm not sure what the default settings are for kermit. After starting kermit, I run the following commands: Set flow-control none Set carrier-watch off Set speed 115200 Set parity no Set stop-bits 1 Connect Which would seem to set 115200 ?N1 with no flow control. Am I doin it rong? Don't worry, the same things happened with my tide. Make the image for the micro sd card, put it in and when it boots it will give the same noise before the console output. The bootloader is on the first partition of the card not the gumstix itself. -- View this message in context: http://old.nabble.com/New-Overo-Tide-produces-noise-on-console--tp30813315p30813839.html Sent from the Gumstix mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |
