I am trying to make Qt/X11 work on a Gumstix Overo Water, with the
omap3-palmtop-image dated 27-04-2010, for afterwards I need to install PyQt
(PyQt only works with Qt/X11, or so I read). After the installation, when I
try to compile a hello world example (program with a button "Hello World!"),
the strings on the button only shows up as boxes.
When I try to run the program, the following warning is given:-
QIconvCodec::convertFromUnicode : using ASCII conversion, iconv_open failed
QIconvCodec::convertToUnicode : using ASCII conversion, iconv_open failed
and the program launches. The string on the push button shows up as boxes.
Reconfiguring/-installing with the -no-iconv flag also gives out the same
result, albeit now without the warning above.
Therefore, my question would be if I am missing out on any libraries or
whatsnot. The configuration is listed below
-lrt -opensource -release -little-endian -nomake examples -nomake demos
-nomake tools -nomake -docs -nomake translations -verbose -no-xmlpatterns
-no-script -no-scripttools -no-accessibility -no-phonon -no-multimedia
-no-separate-debug-info -confirm-license (-no-iconv)
I am currently rebuilding Qt on a desktop-image, to see if there's any
Thank you in advance.
PS:- The reason I don't build it with a toolchain on a development machine
is that because it is a restriction I am currently working with. My only
option is to build Qt directly on Gumstix itself.
