I'm new to gumstix in general but it seems as though there is something faulty with my tobi board. The ethernet fails to load because the 'chip endian is not correct.' I have tried several prebuilt packages including the two latest from the tested/stable section, the latest from the development images and the latest from the linaro packages but this endian issue continues. The value it reads is persistent. I have tried re-seating the COM to no avail. I'm sorry but I dont have another expansion boards or COMs to test. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I had the same issue but reseating the tide on tobi works. At least my tobi+tide configuration has Ethernet access. Hope this helps! My standard test setup is a Tobi, so I am quite certain that works :-) As I said in my earlier messages, it looks like you have bad hardware. With that "endian" message there is no way your ethernet chip is going to work! Steve |

I had this problem once, after pressing the Overo COM some further (even though it already seemed to be clicked in place just fine) into the Tobi board it somehow worked again. Hi Sean; This appears to be an on-going problem with the Tobi boards. You can try re-seating the com board, but I doubt that is the problem :( I have the same problem with two different Tobi boards ... There have been a number of posts with various software attempts at a fix. So far. No joy. Maybe we can get Steve Sakoman to test one of his console images with a Tobi board, and confirm that it works. Ta least then we would know if it is a hardware or software Issue ... Steve ??
