I have a gumstix verdex xl6p, and the console-lcd kit with 18-bit
colour depth Samsung display. When I try to run "Xfbdev -screen
480x272x18", I receive the message "PXA: must specify nonstd when bit
depth==18". I have tried passing nonstd=y to the pxafb module, but
doing this does not result in the /dev node being created. If I run
Xfbdev without the -screen option, the framebuffer switches to 16-bit
mode and colours are displayed incorrectly.
If I am right in thinking this is a kernel issue, what are the options I
should pass to the pxafb module in order to run Xfbdev in 18-bit colour
mode? If not, how may I go about running X at the right colour depth?
