Still on my saga for getting some Java working on the arm architecture, I've
now discovered that there appears to be some bug with either JamVM and/or
classpath in the java.net NetworkInterfaces stuff that I don't know enough
about Java to follow further.
I've got an evaluation copy of Sun's Java for Embedded Devices, which they've
made a mere 24Mb uncompressed. Currently I'm still using Qemu for testing
before purchasing hardware, and I'm wondering if it's possible to simulate
extra space with that. It offers a -hda option but that doesn't appear to be
picked up by the kernel as drive.
My plan is to pretend in qemu that I've got an mmc card, but it can appear as
any storage really, and see if this java thing actually runs, and runs my
cursed program. Unfortunately if it doesn't, the arm architecture won't be
for me at the moment.
