I have a (working) netMMC+gumstix and want to reflash file system via MMC,
but when I try to mmcinit, I get the following:
MMC_RTDO = 859647
Bad MBR sector signature 0xf2a3
** Partition 1 not valid on device 1 **
No MMC card found
I have used this memory card to relfash a basix with onboard MMC. Am I

Yes, you're missing the latest u-boot. If all you want to do is
init the MMC you just have to run mmcinit from the latest
Instead of risking destroying your board by reflashing u-boot, I
wrote some instructions a while back on how to compile u-boot to
run from ram.
This way you can tftpboot the ram based image, run it from ram,
execute the mmcinit command and forget about it. Check the
archives for the instructions I sent or maybe someone on this
list has a copy...
