Anyone have the same issue as me? If they have has there been a fix? I have some gumstix that when I hook up to any terminal program I can see all the output but I can't type. I have others that are like that on only windows machines and still others that work fine. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! When you swap gumstix are you swapping serial cables too? (i.e. can you isolate the problem to being a gumstix and not a flaky serial cable)? -- Dave Hylands Vancouver, BC, Canada http://www.DaveHylands.com/ |

In both windows and Linux all my settings are correct I have just double checked, I have used several serial cables, other gumstixs work. I have narrowed it down to one particular gumstix, I have never used it before today. I don't want to say its a hardware problem until I have exhausted all options. Any other suggestions? --- Dave Hylands <dhy...@gm...> wrote: > Hi Fred, > > > Anyone have the same issue as me? Are you using a custom board to plug the gumstix into? or are you using the waysmall board? If you're using the waysmall board, can you swap it with another gumstix to see if the problem stays with the gumstix or moves with the waysmall board? If it happens to be on the waysmall board, I would guess that it's a cold solder joint, or a blown RS-232 buffer chip. If you have a multi-meter, it might be possible to see if it's a cold solder joint (it also depends on how comfortable you are playing with stuff like multi-meters etc) -- Dave Hylands Vancouver, BC, Canada http://www.DaveHylands.com/ |

Tested it out, its the waysmall board.
