I just got the waysmall 200. Without the MMC card. My
plan is to use the available flash to develop code and
I have been able to get the waysmall up and running
using minicom on my linux PC host.
My question is :
how do u download a compiled hello world program from
the linux pc host to the gumstix. the docs i saw
assume u have a mmc. but i dont . i want to downaload
the program to the gumstix and run it. I installed
kermit and googled to get
But this assumes u want to install a new kernel. I
just want to run a peice of code. basically compile
using arm-gcc3.3.2 on my linux box . produce a "a.out"
and download a.out to gumstix and then run it.
I also had an idea/suggestion could we look into
compiling various algo and benchmarking the gumstix
against these benchmarks these figures could be
helpful to someone choosing a possible SBC. and could
attract developers / designers alike to the gumstix.
we could run matrix multiplication, vector transforms
This would be more like benchmarking the ARM uP +
linux combination but it might be worthwhile to have
Another thing i am considering is writing a ASM /C
Code fixed point library for the gumstix for ppl who
wish to do real number computations.
Kindly advise ony my first question and id welcome
comments on the second and third points
