I've been using a Verdex 6LP and Audiostix II, and recently switched to
using OpenEmbedded. It seems like a wonderful improvement over Buildroot,
however, I ran into a somewhat crippling problem right away. With the
Default audio driver loaded (snd_soc_gumstix), software reboot fails, which
I learned from a different thread (can't remember which) is due to that
module failing to unload properly.
I tried loading snd_pxa2xx_ac97 as the sound driver instead, and reboot
is now working again! This is great, but I have read in several places that
for some reason, the SoC driver is a better choice. Is there something I
should be concerned about (memory leak, etc.) using the older driver?
