I've just got some of the DirectFB examples running on the Samsung LCD,
thanks mostly to Matt Hamrick's hbmobile site.
What I want to do now is have a display for GPS coordinates and heading,
using the GPSStix. The thing is, I had used the ConsoleLCD to connect the
screen to the verdex, but I can't have both the ConsoleLCD and GPSStix
connected at the same time.
Could you give me some recommendations on how to connect the Samsung LCD and
the GPSstix at the same time? I have no experience soldering LCD boards, but
if that's what it takes, I'll give that a shot. If anyone has part nos.
available, that'd be a lot of help too.
The other option I have is just using an independent GPS receiver and
connecting it to one of the serial ports on the ConsoleLCD. I believe this
would be a lot cleaner. Does anyone know what kind of cable I should use to
mate the GPS serial signal to the ports on the ConsoleLCD?
I'm open to anything right now. Thanks a lot!
