I got everything working so far. Everything except for my GPSstix.
Basically there is no life out of the GPSstix. The light doesn't come on =
when plugged in. In fact when i did plug it in and turn on the power the =
on my power supply went off. I disconnected the GPSstix and the power sup=
came back on. The power supply is still working now and my gumstix works =
with it. I measured the voltage off the supply and it was around 4 volts=
was the first time I ever used the GPSstix! I've had it nearly 9 months n=
due to various reasons(mainly college)I was unable to play with it.
I'm currently using it now for my 2nd year computer science group project=
part of a crash detection system for cars which consists of an mc35i gprs=
gumstix connex 400xm, GPSstix and a simple pushbutton to mimic an impact =
I know there was a product recall but that unfortunately doesn't apply to=
my card is the PCB00012-R791.
Any suggestions or ideas about what component/s that might by the culprit=
be very much appreciated! Our project is due in 3 weeks time so the quick=
find out whats wrong the better. Our college has offered to buy a GPSstix=
us that they will end up keeping which is all well and good but this ones=
so it would be nice to get it working again and not be out of pocket :( .
I shall post the link to our projects site when we get it up and running.
