I can not get away from this. I keep getting this error: NOTE: make -j 4 /home/nik/development/gumstix/tmp.overo.6/work/armv7a-angstrom-linux-gnueabi /libvpx-0.9.1-r1/libvpx-0.9.1/vp8/vp8_common.mk:184: warning: overriding commands for target `vpx_asm_offsets.asm' /home/nik/development/gumstix/tmp.overo.6/work/armv7a-angstrom-linux-gnueabi /libvpx-0.9.1-r1/libvpx-0.9.1/vp8/vp8_common.mk:184: warning: ignoring old commands for target `vpx_asm_offsets.asm' make: *** [.DEFAULT] Error 2 FATAL: oe_runmake failed ~ But nothing actually show much of an error. In reviewing the setup doc I noticed that it starts you out on the bleeding edge git branch. I have moved to the stable branch, updated, and still get this. What I am building equates to a simple console-image. I have even tried to mod the .bb files and set DEFAULT_PREFERRENCE to "-99" and it still tries to build it. Is anyone else having an issue with this lib? I have downloaded the source for it and built it successfully on my dev box under ubuntu on x86. Thanks, Nik |

I wish I could say I found a solid fix for this issue... but it does seem that I did find a work around. What I did was take the 0.9.2 bb file for libvpx and place it in my user.collection. Although my build server is still cranking on this build (multithreaded) I believe I caught the log message that libvpx built successfully. Is there a process for promoting/requesting libvpx version updated in the gumstix branch? Is it a simple as submitting a git patch to this forum for acceptance? Thanks, Nik. -----Original Message----- From: N Twerdochlib [mailto:ni...@ni...] Sent: Thursday, October 14, 2010 10:50 PM To: 'General mailing list for gumstix users.' But the description indicates is a change around alsa not libvpx. One thing of note to me is that there was a recent merge into the main OE tree, and since I can build under the OE tree then the issue seems related to changes after that merge on the overo branch? Does anyone have any ideas as to why the supposed failure does not have any true error? If I have more time today I am going to try to cross compile this package manually to see if I can find any hidden error messages. As a side question, what is the prefered method to remove the inclusion of apps like mplayer, ffmpeg...? Hi, I am having the same issue when I'm trying to compile the omap3-desktop-image What's the difference between the Overo branch and the OE dev branch? and how would I go about switching to the working branch.
