I'm working with Java on gumstix + audiostix2. JamVM/Classpath are up
and running and the audiostix2 were modprobed as documented on the
gumstix page. To test out the audio, brec and bplay were used and it all
works fine. The problem comes in when using JamVM to grab the
First I tried:
audioFormat = new AudioFormat(8000.0F, 16, 1, true, false);
DataLine.Info micLineInfo = new DataLine.Info(TargetDataLine.class,
mic = (TargetDataLine) AudioSystem.getLine(micLineInfo);
This didn't work and returned "no mic line available".
The next step was to see if there were any mixers available so I ran:
Mixer.Info mixerInfo = AudioSystem.getMixerInfo();
On return, mixerInfo was blank, meaning that JamVM did not recognize any
mixers for sound card. Does anyone have any ideas on why the audio works
through brec but java isn't recognizing the sound engine or mic?
