Dear All Is it possible to access the Gumstix's/Xscale's processors data/addressbus easily? Judging from the pictures of the board it looks like the surface mount is effectively hidding them, what about the back, any connections to the bus? best regards Anders - potential gumstix buyer |

Hi all It would be really nice to have an access to the data/address bus. I'm considering to by the Gumstix as well :-) George ----- Original Message ----- From: "Anders" <gum...@la...> To: <gum...@li...> Sent: Thursday, April 15, 2004 9:25 PM Subject: [Gumstix-users] Processor bus > Dear All > > Is it possible to access the Gumstix's/Xscale's processors data/addressbus > easily? As previous posts on this list indicated, the processor bus is not exposed. The available I/O provided by the Original Gumstik platform can be seen here: http://www.gumstix.com/interdes.html and I've got a little bit more in-depth information here: http://gumstix.superlucidity.net/downloads/hardware/docs/gumstik-pinouts.txt If you do not see the functionality listed in the chart that I made, it is not available on the existing platform (unless I missed something); however, I would imagine Gumstix, Inc. will be providing additional board variations in the future. For now, it is what it is, so buy one now and start prototyping your supplemental systems. Either such variants arrive when you finally need them or you can at least save yourself the immediate problems involved with developing such a base system. Cheers, Zach Welch Superlucidity Services |
