Is it possible to have the LCD and/or touch screen working at same time with the MCP2515(SPI)?
Could you share your patch for board-overo.c?

I'm using the socketcan framework and drivers which are excellent.
If you are using kernel 2.6.33 all the drivers and infrastructure is in
mainline, all you need to do is use menuconfig or xconfig to configure the
CAN networking.
For kernels prior to this there are OE recipes for socketcan-modules. You
still need to configure the kernel for CAN networking. The recipes have
version 917 set in  sane-srcrevs.inc, I've been using version 1125 in my
older images.
In either case you will need to create a patch for board-overo.c to get the
MCP251x driver initialised.
I've replaced the touch screen initialisation with the MCP251x driver as
I've used the same SPI lines from the Overo.
