This isn't from experience, but I would try JTAG: use the debugger to stop the processor, load a copy of u-boot into memory at the correct address (0x5C000000 from my config.mk file) and then tell it to execute there.  If you're lucky, u-boot will fire right up and then you can use it to reflash the board.
