hi, thanks for the input. I'm new to this--do I change the .config file in the gum linux directory under build_arm_nofpu (trying that at the moment)? Or do I have to add the CONFIG flags somewhere else? As for /proc/bus/usb, I don't have an fstab entry for a joystick or anything, and I don't on any other computer, so I'm a little confused about what to do there.
Thanks

Sounds like /proc/bus/usb isn't mounted.

Hi, I'm pretty new to this, and I don't really know what my dmesg is telling me :)
When I plug in the device and pull it out, it says this every time:
usb 1-2: new low speed USB device using pxa27x-ohci and address 4
usb 1-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
usb 1-2: USB disconnect, address 4
Does that say anything? And for some reason, yesterday lsusb was giving me something and today it isn't. Today it thinks that /proc/bus/usb/devices doesn't exist (it doesn't). I'm pretty confused about it. Maybe someone has some insight :)
Thanks

Does dmesg show you the major and minor numbers of the js?
you can create the device node using that information.
