Howdy Fred,

Without a schematic, Iíd be hesitant to put 12V through a TOBI board, despite knowing the specs on the TPS62111.† Be good to hear from the gumstix folks on this one.

Cheers,

Akram

Subject: [Gumstix-users] Power Supply Variations

We have been running some Gumstix Overo's with Tobi-duo's for awhile using 5 VDC, 1.0 Amp power supply's purchased with the Gumstix's. We are looking at deploying some units in an environment were the only power supply is 12 VDC. According to the information about the Tobi-duo, it has a TPS62111 which can use anywhere from 3.1 to 17 VDC. But on the Gumstix website, under folder /boards/TOBI-DUO/PCB30013-R3016 there is a PDF file (PCB30013.pdf) that states that capcitor C43 should be replaced to support higher voltage.

Can anybody know if we can use the Tobi-duo, Gumstix Overo combination as is with 12 VDC or does it need to be modified.
