Hey everybody, I apologize in advance because the answers to these questions are probably trivial, but I haven't been able to find them anywhere:

Can I work with my gumstix (verdex XM4 connected to a breakout-vx board) by simply plugging it into USB on my Ubuntu-running laptop? Or do I need an RS-232 connection? If I can work with it using a simple USB A to Mini cable, how do I set up Kermit to talk with it, or is there some other program I should be using?

I've followed the instructions on the Tutorial page: I've set up the build-root environment, I've recompiled the Linux kernel, now I just neet to get Kermit to talk to my Gumstix and I will be a happy camper.

Thanks for everything!
