Hello,

 

I have an Overo Fire “COM Pack”.

 

The screen itself is working, but the touch interface is not. I was sent a replacement screen but it behaves exactly the same and I get the same error on boot:

To be clear, the screen lights up on boot and a configuration window for enlightenment pops up for choosing a language. If I plug in a USB mouse then I can cursor around (though the resolution is messed up). So, except for the ‘touch’ part, the screen seems ok.

There is no entry for /dev/ts or dev/input/touchscreen or any such.

When I try to load the driver manually by doing “modprobe ads7846”, I get the following error as reported by dmesg… same as on boot:

So of course without a driver, the ‘ts_calibrate’ utility fails with this error message:

ts_open: No such file or directory

 

Everything is untouched (except for the ‘setenv defaultdisplay lcd43’ in the U-Boot… everything is pristine as delivered in the box.

 

Since the screen has already been replaced, the problem is likely elsewhere.  It was suggested that maybe the LCD connector was not inserted correctly/completely.

But I have re-connected several times, and besides the screen does light up and display the enlightenment configuration, so the connector is fine. It is just the “touch” part of the touch screen not working.

 

I really need this to work. I saw some reports about IC6 issues, but I do not know how to check for this.

 

I would appreciate further help on this problem.
