Hmm. I have both too. Not easy. Since I have double sided tape on the
of both here's one thing you can look at on the top layer.
Orientation: with connector side up and 3 - 8 pin circular connectors
running left to right along the top of the board.
Find resistor pack RP3 just above the lcd flex connector.
The lcd16 has 4 surface traces coming from RP3 and circling around to the
left between RP3 and RP2 down to the X2 (LCD) flex) connector.
On the lcd18 you can only see 3 traces in the same vicinity.
Not very technical - it would have been easier if the "console-vx"
silkscreen below the flex connector had been changed in order to more easily
identify and differentiate the 2.
