Ahh – didn’t think to look under there. On the real thing you can’t see those numbers when the black flex retention clip open.

To determine the consoleLCD board (18 bpp) from the consoleLCD16-vx (16 bpp), look at the version numbers written on the top of the boards because the PCB number can be misleading.

Examples below.

Hmm. I have both too. Not easy. Since I have double sided tape on the bottom

of both here's one thing you can look at on the top layer.

Orientation: with connector side up and 3 - 8 pin circular connectors
running left to right along the top of the board.

Find resistor pack RP3 just above the lcd flex connector.

The lcd16 has 4 surface traces coming from RP3 and circling around to the
left between RP3 and RP2 down to the X2 (LCD) flex) connector.

On the lcd18 you can only see 3 traces in the same vicinity.

Not very technical - it would have been easier if the "console-vx"
silkscreen below the flex connector had been changed in order to more easily
identify and differentiate the 2.

Dear all,

It seems that through two different orders, I have a pair of consoleLCD-vx
(18bpp, which it seems that no one can actually get it to work properly!)
and also a pair of consoleLCD16-vx. I'm trying to distinguish between them -
are there some sort of mark that distinguishes between these two physically?

Also, are there any good build for consoleLCD16-vx yet?

thank you!
