It's working :)

Thanks very much for the tips. It led me to giving it another go with a pure Ubuntu installation (Ubuntu 11.10). I plugged it in and noticed that /dev/ttyACM0 was now present and everything just worked.

The board I am using is BRD30019-R3517 (that's on the white sticker on the back of the board).

So what does not seem to work for me so far:
- Windows 7 32-bit on Asus PC
- Windows 7 64-bit on Mac Intel (Boot Camp)
- Ubuntu 11.10 on VirtualBox on Mac OS X Lion (perhaps not a big surprise).

What I discovered that wasn't really documented in one place:
- Use a native Ubuntu (or other distro) install if possible.
- When the Overo is plugged in you can access it with the following settings:
     Port: /dev/ttyUSB1
     Speed: 115200
Other: under kermit enter  "set carrier-watch off"

- To connect to the robovero from the PC remove the Overo and access it with the following settings:
Port: /dev/ttyACM0  (if it is not present something is wrong)
     Speed: 115200
Other: under kermit enter  "set carrier-watch off"

Regards

Simon

2 different Windows 7 machines (32 and 64 bit) and Ubuntu 11.10 although Ubuntu is running under VirtualBox on a Mac. I can try and setup a normal Ubuntu install and see what difference it makes.

If I can connect to the overo on the robovero using Ubuntu on VirtualBox should it not also work with the overo removed?

Thanks

Simon
