Hi Patrick,

I'm not sure about Java but I've used PySerial with Overo.

https://github.com/robovero/python/blob/master/robovero/internals.py

Not the best python code but it gets the job done. If you look at the TurtleCore schematic you'll see that the DB25 connects to UART1 of the Overo. I believe this translates to /dev/ttyO0.

My coworker Tyler put together an example (Python) that might help.

Hi everyone,

I am working on integrating the Turtlecore and an Overo, but I am not using ROS. I was wondering if it is possible to directly use the Tx and Rx on the DB25 header as a /dev/tty serial device in Linux on the Overo. I have Debian on my Overo Fire storm right now.

I would like to grab a hold of the serial port from a Java application directly, so that I can send messages using the Create serial protocol.

Thanks!

Patrick
