Build the cross compile environment on a VM and distribute the VM.

Not elegant, but it is easy.

This is assuming that you cannot simply give the other users accounts on the build machine.

this is a monologue but i think it can be useful to put this in the record! =P

i've just came across a much easier and faster way. here http://narcissus.angstrom-distribution.org/ you can build a filesystem image for the overo using a remote server. the interesting part is that you can also download a sdk that includes all the libraries needed for the packages that you're installing. after downloading it you just have to extract to '/' and it's done. then before compiling you make something like:

$source /usr/local/angstrom/arm/environment-setup

also it's easy to write a makefile based on the variables exported by this file.

$ bitbake binutils-cross-sdk

do you think this can do the job?
