The Gumstix wiki I linked contains a customized version of Linaro 12.07 with Kernel 3.2. Read the article first and let us know.

Hi ALl and Hi Lee,

I was about to try the Linaro Versions, but i could not find any new bulids. I have tried all images in this http://releases.linaro.org/platform/linaro-n/.
Are you talking about the Linaro daily bulids ? If not can you please tell me on which version did you check the config file.. ?

Regards,

I see. I just checked the kernel config of the image I linked earlier. It looks like the twl4030_madc has been built into the kernel with the following config entries:

CONFIG_SENSORS_TWL4030_MADC=y
CONFIG_TWL4030_MADC=y

Unfortunately libertas tf was not included (# CONFIG_LIBERTAS_THINFIRM is not set).

However, I did a search like below and perhaps the firmware was included?

$ dpkg --contents pkgs/linux-firmware_1.79_all.deb  | grep tf
-rw-r--r-- root/root    118888 2012-06-29 13:50 ./lib/firmware/lbtf_usb.bin
-rw-r--r-- root/root    120924 2012-06-29 13:50 ./lib/firmware/libertas/lbtf_sdio.bin

I'm not sure if this is helping any, but just throwing you what I know =P

Thanks Lee...
I have tried Linaro before. I'm sure that it has WiFi drivers with HostAP. I had Plethora of other problems wit Linaro, which I did solve. But could never solve the MADC problem. I need MADC drivers too, which is not present in Linaro.. In my project I need to use ADC and sense the input voltage.

Angstrom-Gnome has no problems as such.. whatever works, works fine, including WiFi (with libertas drivers, without HostAP) atleast far reasonably for my project. But I need to add the libertas_tf sdio drivers(note the change in name of the driver).

Host AP (hosting access point or also called soft AP) is a feature which will enable me to use gumstix as an access point. I can connect mobile phones and laptops to gumstix.

Can you try with this? - http://wiki.gumstix.org/index.php?title=Installing_Linaro_Image

It is a Linaro based image using kernel 3.2. Not sure what the host ap feature exactly is, but this image has wifi driver.

Hi all,

I have invested in 5 OVERO-FIRES recently, and have a total of 7. Deployment of all these have been pending past 6 months.

I'm not able to add the hostap feature which is available in libertas_tf driver for the wi2wi chip.
I'm using openembedded to modify the kernel and going as per instructions in http://corysohrakoff.wordpress.com/2011/09/13/enabling-wifi-ap-mode-on-a-gumstix-overo/. The only difference between the procedure in that website and what i'm doing is the OPENEMBEDDED.

More details are available in previous mails.

Is there anyone who is working with OPENEMBEDDED and BITBAKE in an around Bangalore (or at least in Southern part of India)..??

Hi all,

My first time compilation as soon as I setup the OE environment was succesfull and boots fine too.. I'm using overo-fire.
Now I have added libertas Thinfirm drivers as per http://corysohrakoff.wordpress.com/2011/09/13/enabling-wifi-ap-mode-on-a-gumstix-overo/ but using OE..
I have pasted the error below..

My understanding of OE might not be good.. but I have a question
Does Thinfirm drivers get compiled by 'recipes' or the normal 'Make'.. If 'recipies', then where do I find the recipies..?? If it is Make then how to proceed..??
