Hi Rafael,

May I know how you were able to achieve the suspend/resume process in gumstix?  I could put the system to suspend state by assigning a key as POWER key but cannot resume by any keypress.

Thanks,
Krishnan

Hi, I saw several threads on this mailing list but I still did not get
this working.

I simply want to put an Overo FireStorm to sleep and wake it up with
an external GPIO trigger (a button).

I tried echo mem > /sys/power/state as already said in this list. In
the first time I issue this command, I get the following:

root@overo:~# echo mem > /sys/power/state
PM: Syncing filesystems ... done.
Freezing user space processes ... (elapsed 0.01 seconds) done.
Freezing remaining freezable tasks ... (elapsed 0.01 seconds) done.
Suspending console(s) (use no_console_suspend to debug)
mmc1: card 0001 removed
PM: suspend of devices complete after 367.950 msecs
PM: late suspend of devices complete after 0.274 msecs
Class driver suspend failed for cpu0
PM: early resume of devices complete after 0.091 msecs
PM: resume of devices complete after 226.348 msecs
Restarting tasks ...
done.

As already happened to other people, it wakes up immediately.

But the second time I issue this command, I always get:

root@overo:~# echo mem > /sys/power/state
PM: Syncing filesystems ... done.
Freezing user space processes ... (elapsed 0.02 seconds) done.
Freezing remaining freezable tasks ... (elapsed 0.01 seconds) done.
Suspending console(s) (use no_console_suspend to debug)

And nothing more.

Probably this is not working, because it does not wakeup with
characters in the UART. Moreover the power consumption stays exactly
the same (290mA)

Does anyone have ideas to solve this problem?

Ah, kernel 2.6.34 - standard kernel that shipped with my Gumstix. I
also tried to mount the debugfs and put the system to sleep for 5
seconds, but it did not came back

thanks!
