Im looking for dsp/gstreamer support and tvp5150. I think it should work in 3.5 (I hope at least).

Yes Yocto is our new build system, but at the moment it only supports Kernel 3.2 and 3.5 (meaning it does not support features you may need such as SGX). Of course, if you are comfortable with the build system, you can make it work with the older kernels. 

If you absolutely need Kernel 2.6, OpenEmbedded is still valid.
