If you can setup your module with autotools (configure.ac and Makefile.am), then it is very easy to create a recipe for that. I don't have access to my source files at the moment otherwise I would attach the recipe along with the autotool config files.

You can create a simple recipe, bitbake only that recipe, then transfer the compiled module to the gumstix manually.  Thats what we do for some of our small home-made modules. You can simply make a recipe that calls your own makefile that builds your module.

the other option would be to go into the build chain and set the appropriate ${GCC} flags in your makefile to point to the cross-compiler and linker.  maybe this would be more appropriate?

Hi Blaine,

No, that sounds kind of complicated... Is there a simple way to do it?
I feel OpenEmbedded/bitbake are like eggshells that one has to
carefully traverse lest one crack and you have to redo the whole
one-day build cycle, replete with errors...
