I had some trouble following the two different guides I found as well. I posted the steps that eventually got my Overo Water to boot here: http://squall1986.com/?page_id=79. I would first try to get everything working from a pre-built image if you aren't already.

Hi all,

I'm new to Gumstix. Just received my Overo Fire + Chestnut43 kit and playing with it. Very interesting!

I'm now following the Setup guide on the website to install the latest images from Gumstix onto the supplied SD card to boot from it. I created the two filesystems, moved the files MLO, u-boot.bin and uImage on the first one, and the filesystem on the other. Pretty sure I have it exactly as the guide.

However, when I reset, the console stops here:

I've let it for several minutes, nothing happens.

I found another thread where people mentioned it was working with a different u-boot.bin file from another build. I tried that user's u-boot.bin. It loads, but stops a few lines after:

Any ideas or suggestions?

I've read another thread where a user recommended to clear the environment variables as there was a conflict between "mmc init" and "mmcinit" commands. I tried that as well, with no apparent changes.

Thanks
