I wondered if pressing the reset button would help, but I don't really know what it resets. I searched the gumstix wiki and found this on the "Connecting Via Serial - Windows" page: "Plug the power adapter into the power jack of the tweener. When powered, you will see the computer booting in Hyperterminal. If you do not see the device booting or the logon prompt press and hold the reset button on the Gumstix."

I guess you should give that a try. Good luck.

I did not make any hardware modifications to the board before
reflashing and have tried connecting the boards several times just to
rule out a lose connection. I haven't used minicom a lot, so I use
windows based hyper terminal. But even with minicom, this board
doesnot work. I have another gumstix board that works fine & that
board works well with either hyperterminal or minicom. In both hyper
terminal & minicom, I've tried all the available serial ports, but
with no luck :(.

I don't have an oscilloscope & don't know how to use one :(.

Checked the warranty on the hardware, but my hardware is over 30 days
old, so won't get any warranty coverage on this :(.
Can the gumstix folks tell me if they could inspect & possibly fix
this board if I were to send it to them?

The only reason I tried building & using the latest buildroot is in
the hope that I'd get the CF card slot working on the wifistix.
Although I don't think that the new buildroot image caused this
problem on the gumstix, but I am still a bit apprehensive to flash my
other gumstix board. If that also gets wrecked, I'll have nothing :(.
Are there any other options I should look at to see if I can get CF to
work on the wifistix with my other gumstix?

Thanks,
Rohit
