Ok. I am formally giving up on trying getting the buildroot environment working on my XP Pro laptop. The towel has been thrown. My next solution: Build a Linux machine and create the toolchain there. Since I am intimately familiar with the instructions on Buildroot on XP, the first thing that comes to mind is that Debian was used. I don’t assume that Debian is a required OS to build the Toolchain. The instructions for doing this don’t specify an OS. Just Linux. So, since I found Debian to be horrifically frustrating (I am used to Redhat) I am going to do this in Redhat 9.

So, has anyone been able to get this working in Redhat?

Will Redhat work for compiling programs (And Kernel) for the Gumstix?

Is there anything I should know before I do this?
