I am currently trying to get the latest version of Dropbear working on a Gumstix with a wifi/cf stix release version 1162 of the buildroot. I have tried both cross compiling as it says in the wiki I have also tried changing the version number on the dropbear.mk file in the package part of the build root. They both hit the same problem that seems to be it cannot find the "zlib.h" file. The file is present in the buildroot but I'm not sure how to tell the buildroot where it is. If I try this with the latest version of the buildroot it works in both cases, however my problem with this is that the latest version of the buildroot does not give me the reliability for lots of large file transfers over the Wifi. I would like to know what changes I need to make to my old 1162 version to enable the latest version of dropbear to be built.

Thanks

Subject: [Gumstix-users] dropbear and scp speed

I am currently trying to optimise the speed of scp copies between two gumstix boards over wifi.

The speed seems to be erratic and slower than tests using netperf predict.

It would appear that version 0.49 of dropbear has some fixes which may improve this speed issue.

Would it be possible to for version 0.49 of dropbear to be incorporated into the latest version of the buildroot so that this can be verified?

Marc
