Have you tried one of these pre built images http://www.sakoman.com/component/option,com_phocadownload/Itemid,60/id,2/view,category/.

This will rule out any set up issues with the kernel. If this works I would return to the original kernel and change a little at a time. When I added LAN support to the kernel I only added smsc911x, you can search for this under the menuconfig.

I am not very experienced in doing this, but found the help so good that I could include the module and ensure that it was included as default.

I'd go back to the start and build up slowly. Search the forums on Nabble I found a lot of help there.

I hope this help you reach the solution. Sorry I cannot be of anymore help.

Stuart

Hello Suart

Thanks for the response, it still doesn't work, right now I have a USB ethernet that works fine, but I want to use the lan9221 on the tobi board.

My interfaces setup is

auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

iface eth0 inet static
address 204.241.133.86
netmask 255.255.255.0
gateway 204.241.133.1
auto eth0

iface eth1 inet dhcp

Thanks for the help, I believe that the problem is either the driver source or I didn't build the kernel properly

Jose

Try to add "smsc911x" to the end of /etc/modules

If that does not work you need to let everyone see your
/etc/network/interfaces setup.
