Hello,

I am a newbie. I have a verdex pro XL6P and a console-st and I can't bring the gumstix to life.   I have tried both USB mode and the serial port. None seem to provide any signal.   I am using Ubuntu 9.  For communications, I use kermit with this setup:
set line /dev/ttyUSB0 //dev/ttS0 for serial port
set flow-control none
set carrier-watch off
set speed 115200
set reliable
fast
set prefixing all
set file type bin
set rec pack 4096
set send pack 4096
set window 5
set handshake none
I have read and write permission on the serial ports:

[dev] ls -l /dev/ttyS0
crw-rw---- 1 root dialout 4, 64 2009-08-17 06:44 /dev/ttyS0
[dev] ls -l /dev/ttyS1
crw-rw---- 1 root dialout 4, 65 2009-08-17 06:44 /dev/ttyS1

/dev/ttUSB0 doesn't show up as a port when the device is connected in the USB mode.  What's more, when I try to connect the device in windows via USB, windows doesn't recognize it as a new device.  I have found a thread here where people had to rewire console-vx to get a signal.

http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=22410EA55A9AAA45BBC035D199FBCFBC334063%40dti-svr2.DTI.local

But I can't find any such thing for console-st and I don't want to wire things w/o any help.  So I would appreciate any I could get.

 Thanks!

Mey
