currently i am trying to run the gumstix including the audiostix on the linux. the stack includes audiostix, connex and wifi board. and in order to have the usb communication i tried to first set up the usbnet module serially with the hyperterminal with connex, console and wifi. and i followed the wiki to set up usbnet in linux

i currently have the kernel version of 2.6.11 and according to the wiki i just have to modprobe the usbnet, but the command "modprobe usbnet" gives the error bad command.

as such the encryption is off.

could u tell me the mistake that i have done.

If you can't ping the gumstix, then you won't be able to ssh in.

I'd go to the serial console, and try to ping the host from the
gumstix and see if that works.

With Wifi, using ifconfig by itself often isn't enough, if WEP is
involved (i.e. you need to enter the SSID and WEP password).

You can use the iwconfig command to see if you've been associated with the WAP.

Also, if you've configured MAC address filtering on the WAP, then
you'll need to add the gumstix MAC address.
