currently i am using the cygwin on the windows as i couldnt get a serial connection to make it work with the hyperterminal.

so the connection is now - connex, gpsstix, wifistix. and i have the cygwin. how can i get started to get to hear some sound from the gpsstix. i have also plugged in a headset to the gpsstix.

i had used hyperterminal and used the gumstix on linux as well.so would it be some similar commands like minicom -s and so on. or is it completey different.

kindly comment

No - I meant using a serial adapter is better than using the tweener.

Stability is purely physical. When using the tweener, its much more
likely that your boards will become separated and possibly damage
them. If you securely fasten the boards to each other (for example
using spacers and nuts & bolts), then using the tweener is fine.

Having boards come apart while they're powered runs the risk of
permanent damage.
