Hi. I am doing some Bootloader/custom OS development for the gumstix. I need to JTAG it (not debug it just shove stuff into flash). I have the Intel JFLASHMM tool and a .dat configuration file for it. However, Im stymied as to where to solder/attach leads for the JTAG pins. I have a GUMSTIX #11 (which I think is the new one without the JTAG lines coming out to the 60-pin Hirose).

On the web (somewhere), I found the following reference:

TDO TP1

TDI TP2

TCK TP3

TMS TP4

VCC TP6

GND TP7

This doesnt seem to work. Its probably for some other board. Im using an Insight UC-1 JTAG cable. Looking at the basix board I cant see where else the pads for the JTAG terminals would be.

I dont just want the unit reflashed with Linux/whatever I want to be able to replace the flash contents many times as I debug things with the software Im writing.

Anyone here know where the pads are or what Im doing wrong?

Kurt,

I'm out of the office and gumstix-less at the moment, but this is the relevant doc:

http://pubs.gumstix.com/boards/GUMSTIX/testpointlocations.txt

The last 2 columsn there are I think measurements from one of the board corners in mm

Having pointed to that document though, it doesn't mention which version of what gumstix it's talking about; there might have been a change at some point of which I'm not aware, but I don't think so.

There's also this directory which includes schematics for a board which bridges from a MacGraigor wiggler to the JTAG touchpoints:
