I'm really not familiar with the capabilities of u-boot so I'm not sure if it can be done with 1.2.0.  If you do get booting from usb working please pass let the list know... would be really handy!

Yes - I need to be able to boot directly from USB.
I'm attempting a project that involves Robotic AI - and would like to use the built in flash for "Personality Storage" (Similar to persistent personality of the Pleo). I'll be using a Verdex board and designing a daughter board that connects through the 24 flex ribbon connector and I'll be using the USB Host signal from it to attach a USB Flash Drive that contains the Kernel and file system.

Or can all this be done using U-Boot 1.2.0??

Hi Luis,

I've not heard of anyone attempting to build a newer u-boot.  If you checkout the gumstix buildroot you can see how it gets patched and built currently.  Is there some reason you need a newer version?

I looked up their site and have downloaded the source code for 1.3.0 &
1.3.3 - I just want to know what configuration parameter I should use for the
build and if someone has tried this before ( what result where accomplished - what steps did you use - tips, tips, tips )
