This is a known problem that has been fixed upstream a while back:

There's a revised patch file on the above page.  Seems to be a one character fix: pututxline should not have the x, it should be pututline.

This should be fixed in the gumstix buildroot!

I was able to update the patch file and to get the build to complete successfully, however I really don't know if what I did was correct.  So I won't bore you with those details here.
