Well I FINALY got a mini-A to mini-B cable that works and hooked up the hub. Now I seem to have a different problem.
For some reason hciconfig doesn’t work, even though ‘lsusb’ displays the device. It also appears at boot time. I really
hope I’m just making some dumb mistake L
I logged in as root just to be sure there were no privilege issues:

Anyone have any ideas ???
