I need to alter the behavior of the UART peripherals on the Gumstix Overo.  Basically, I need to put in support for non-standard baud rates, and break detection and generation.

 

I’ve worked on many other embedded systems, but at a much lower level, generally without an OS.  I’m used to accessing hardware directly, writing my own interrupt handlers, etc.  But doing embedded software that runs in a Linux environment I’m somewhat at a loss as to how to proceed.

 

I figured that I’d need to dive into the kernel, so I’ve built the console image following directions from the web site, but beyond that I’m having difficulty figuring out even where the source for anything is.
