Asunto: Re: [Gumstix-users] PPP Module?

I’ve recompiled the kernel and tried to do the modprobe

But I get:

FATAL: Module ppp not found.

It’s as if the module is not enabled in the kernel configuration.

How would I enable it in the configuration ?

You can recmpile the kernel or load the module.

To recompile the kernel goes to gumstix.wiki. To load the module do /sbin/modprobe -v ppp. If its not the module in your gumstix you ought to recompile the kernel.

I can’t get PPPD to work

It says:

pppd: This system lacks kernel support for PPP.  This could be because

the PPP kernel module could not be loaded, or because PPP was not

included in the kernel configuration.  If PPP was included as a

module, try `/sbin/modprobe -v ppp'.  If that fails, check that

ppp.o exists in /lib/modules/`uname -r`/net.

See README.linux file in the ppp distribution for more details.

What should I do?
