Greetings all,

I am trying to setup my connex motherboard and netCF card with a MA701 to become an wireless access point. I want to connect to it with my 802.11g wireless card in my windows PC similar to connecting via the Ethernet cable,  in order to view the hosted website and talk to it using SSH.

The instructions on http://docwiki.gumstix.org/Frequently_asked_questions/Wifi#Can_the_gumstix_become_a_wifi_access_point_or_it_is_just_a_device_on_a_wifi_network.3F
seem to be out of date. I have hostap_cs and hostap modules loaded, lsmod gives:

Module                  Size  Used by
af_packet              16996  2

And iwconfig gives:

My windows PC is right next to the Gumstix but, when searching for wireless networks it cannot pick up the Gumstix as an AP. Have I set something up wrong within the Gumstix or is my MA701 card not working well? Or do I need to set something in windows?
The MA701 just continuously flashes its yellow LED.

Please help and thank you,

Dave
