i'm using revision 1137 (has worked for me well in the past) and kernel 2.6.18 despite the name of my uImage file.  just fyi, i haven't modified anything on the flash memory of the gumstix; it's stock.  i've created files for the mmc, put them on my mmc card, plugged it in and booted the gumstix.
