Craig,

After reading your explanations and http://www.gumstix.org/tikiwiki/tiki-index.php?page=JTAG&comzone=show#comments

I have one last *I hope* question,

Can I extract jtag signals from waysmall - STUART in similar way to tweener board?

Is there any cut needed on the waysmall - STUART board in this case?

Asaf

You need a "wiggler" equivalent to connect JTAG to your PC parallel port.  Then you need to connect the wiggler pins to he JTAG pins on the gumstix, which are on the 60-pin connector.  search "JTAG" on the wiki for info.

Asaf,

if you were pushing a CF card in when everything died, I'd bet that you separated the CF board from the gumstix while there were signals flying back and forth on the CPU bus.  You've more than likely killed the gumstix.  The clocks will probably still be ticking OK, but the stix is likely dead.  The way to check would be to see if you can get a JTAG response from it.

All:

After two weeks that I’ve been working with stuart+connex400+netCF I was trying to attach netgear MA701

While trying to make the WiFi work suddenly the serial hanged and than I was not able to boot anymore… only the green status led still lit…

My questions:

How can I verify that the PXA255 chip is still functioning or in other words, what clocks to measure…

Do I need special board for JTAG debugging?

Many thanks

Asaf
