Alright, I’m pretty new to this, and my linux experience is quite varied but not too in depth. I’m have the following questions:
1) Is there a way to make an image of your current configuration and software? I’d seen threads that said no, but some of them were a bit older, so I thought perhaps someone had a solution.
2) When you have a .gumstix image built, how do you flash the solid image onto the device rather than using uload to xfer one file at a time?
3) When compiling with the default buildroot, I get:
mm/built-in.o(.text+0x15984): In function `shmem_file_setup':
: undefined reference to `ramfs_get_inode'
mm/built-in.o(.text+0x15a24): In function `shmem_file_setup':
: undefined reference to `ramfs_file_operations'
mm/built-in.o(.data+0x638): undefined reference to `ramfs_get_sb'
fs/built-in.o(.init.text+0x930): In function `mnt_init':
: undefined reference to `init_rootfs'

make: *** [/home/xepherys/gumstix-buildroot/build_arm/linux-2.6.11gum/arch/arm/b
oot/compressed/vmlinux] Error 2
4) When I try to ‘make ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=arm-linux- menuconfig’ a new kernel, I get errors about not having ncurses-devel. There is no apt-get package for it. Any options?
All of the above is based on me working in coLinux with the Debian iso, as per the instructions found on the Gumstix wiki.
