David,

When I've seen that it's because the git protocol port (9418) was blocked by The Man (corporate firewall).    Try using "http://" instead of "git://".

Subject: [Gumstix-users] yocto rebuild

If I try to rebuild with yocto and I follow the directions at:

https://github.com/gumstix/Gumstix-YoctoProject-Repo

Step 2 when I do a "repo init -u git://github.com/gumstix/Gumstix-
YoctoProject-Repo.git"

I always get this error:

Getting repo ...

  from git://android.git.kernel.org/tools/repo.git

android.git.kernel.org[0: 149.20.4.77]: errno=Connection timed out

fatal: unable to connect a socket (Connection timed out)

Can anyone explain why?
