“Unlike the regular gumstix daughtercards, the robostix can deal with voltages upto around 9v.”

Sounds like you’ll be OK. Of course, the extra volt will be dissipated as heat.

Subject: [Gumstix-users] Robostix power: 6V too high for 'BOARD'?

So the quest for power continues.  I'm trying to determine if I can power my verdex-xm4/netwifimicrosd/robostix stack by applying 6V directly to the "BOARD" pins on the Robostix.  One of the members on this board, Jay Phillips, has the same gumstix stack but he clipped the jumper (between BOARD and MOTOR) on the Robostix and has 5V connected to "BOARD" and 6V connected to "MOTOR".  Can I connect 6V to "BOARD" or is this too high?  I'd like to know before investing in additional voltage regulators.

Thanks in advance,

Brian Joly
