#14 Exiftool warning!

I cannot write the metadata to XMP, I got the following Exiftool warning:

Exiftool cannot write R1024493.DNG
perl: warning: Setting locale failed.
perl: warning: Please check that your locale settings:
LANGUAGE=(unset)
LC_ALL= (unset)
LANG="en_Us"
are supported and installed on your system.
perl: warning: Falling back to the standard locale ("C").
0 image files updated
1 image files unchanged

What can I do to solve this?

In a Bash shell try as root:
#export LANG="en_US"

It doesn't work at all.
Is it possible that ExifTool needs to be changed to German as my System language is German?

try the same exiftool command from a shell prompt
and post the report please!
