Arch linux deletes all .la files. Thus, transitive linking with
libtool does not work in all cases:
- at seems to work as long a regular executable is to be created
- but for shared objects, such as plugins, it fails.
That's what makes it hard to come up with a prober autoconf check for this.
However, libgpod has some dependencies, the dependency that causes
headaches is libgobject. For determining the ipod model, we have to
call g_object_get, but linking fails on arch if this symbol is used
and if libgobject is not explicitly given on the link command line.
As arch won't use the .la file and as I am to stupid to correctly
check for the necessity of libgobject I thought I could ask you to be
so kind to include all of libgpod's dependencies in the pkg-config
--libs output. Would you please?
